Red-Shouldered Hawk Sighting

Local Charlestonian Chad Norman recently brought his kids out to Daniel Island to do some nature photography and while on the island he spotted this Red-Shouldered Hawk sitting tamely on a tree branch. According to Chad, the bird looked as big as a red-tailed hawk on-site (around 50 cm), but once he saw the photos he thought otherwise. The creature’s long yellow legs were the real giveaway, as well as the rusty breast.
